About Grace

The therapist at Touched By Grace is none other than Grace, herself. I chose the name as a take on the TV series "Touched by an Angel" which was popular a few years ago.

I grew up on a grain farm near Regina, and developed a strong love of animals and the outdoors at an early age.

My mother developed cancer in 1991, and with chemo and surgery treatment unsuccessful we trekked down to San Diego several times to try alternative methods offered in Tijuana Mexico. It was during this phase of my life that my passion for healing was ignited. At first it was just a determination to see my mother well, but it eventually took on a life of its own, sending me vast amounts of information - and misinformation- to disseminate. My exposure to the varied array of alternative treatments helped me to formulate what I believe to be essential to keeping and /or regaining health, and also gave me clues to what creates unhealthy states of being.

In early 2000 I experienced a life-crisis and received healing in the gentle care of a CranioSacral Therapist. From that moment on I was determined to learn and study this amazing way of unlocking healing and stirring loose the bonds of negative, entrapping thoughts. I was on the verge of a serious physical shut-down, and CST brought me out of it.

I began actively learning hands-on type healing modalities in 2003, starting with Reiki and Reflexology, my first level of CranioSacral Therapy in 2004, and I have continued learning since. My knowledge base continues to build. My skills as a hands-on therapist have increased, as have my intuitive capabilities.

The path my life has taken gives me insights and knowledge that I share with my clients. The training and abilities I have are offered with sincerity. It has been suggested that I am here to "teach the people peace. And that begins by making peace within themselves, first." And so, to that end I have become "
Touched By Grace".

Qualifications

Training in the various modalities I offer has been quite extensive and taken me to many places.

Classes with the Upledger Institute

In CranioSacral Therapy I have studied 4 levels. After CranioSacral Therapy II the next levels teach how emotions trapped in tissue can create interference and havoc with tissue function, and we learn ways to release it safely and permanently. I have studied two levels in the SomatoEmotional curriculum.

Reiki

I have my Master's Degree in Usui Reiki. I have received all the attunements and have taught several classes. Learning healing with Reiki was one of my first quests and paved the way for many amazing things in the future.

Reflexology

I took my Reflexology training through RAC, the Reflexology Association of Canada. This is Canada's largest Reflexology association, with nearly 2000 members. From my experience I believe the treatment protocol of Reflexology as taught by RAC to be a very thorough and beneficial one. My certification was awarded to me in 2004. I am a current member of RAC, and have my RCRT status. (Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist)

Energy Balancing, Matrix Energetics

Many happy hours of learning were spent studying these two most interesting modalities. They have proven very useful and have given many of my clients great relief.

Membership in Associations

I am a current member of a few natural healthcare associations.

  • RAC (Reflexology Association of Canada) is Canada's largest Reflexology association, and works to promote Reflexology to everyone, as well as encourage insurance providers to support coverage for it's customers.

  • NHPC (Natural Healthcare Practitioners of Canada) actively promotes natural healthcare in Canada and offers support and networking for its members.

NHPC and RAC both require certification in CPR, and several hours of upgrading in training per year to remain a member.

The Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) is dedicated to promoting the art and science of natural health practices, to serving the needs and maintaining the professional standards of natural health practitioners in Canada, and to improving health care in Canada.NHPC is a nation-wide organization representing 6500 members across Canada.
